Thom completed a Bachelors in Applied Sport Science from Exeter University England, followed by a diploma in Massage Therapy from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy.

Originally from England not Australia, Thom moved to Canada in 2008 for one ski season and never left. He is a recent economic migrant to the valley from Vancouver’s skyrocketing housing and unaffordability! Jokes aside he really moved here for the lifestyle and abundance of outdoor activities and he can’t think of a better place to raise his family than the Comox Valley.

Thom grew up playing a variety of sports including competitive level in Hockey (field), cricket and rugby. He now enjoys outdoor pursuits; in the winter, downhill skiing and backcountry skiing, in the summer months he likes being on the water kayaking and canoeing and year round he enjoys trail running. He completed his first ultra marathon in 2018 and decided to name his first born after it.
